Trip Overview

This unique loop trail will focus on the culture of the Lanten people. We will pass through beautiful nature, enjoying the lush mountains. Trained guides will also share information about the ecology and culture. Time will always be taken to explore multiple ethnic villages and we will arrive on a mountain top with stunning views. Finally, we will learn about traditional crafts and engage with Sida and Khmu villages as well.

We start this trip in the morning at 9:00 am from the morning market. We first drive you out of Luang Namtha city by Tuk-Tuk, around 30 minutes to arrive at the starting point in a village called Ban Namdee village. There we can see how they make bamboo paper making (depending on season), weaving, local dye cotton. After that, we will start with easy walking up and down of mountain for about 3 hours, before heading deep into the primary forest. Our your way, your guide will point out plants used for medicine and we will have to prepare food for cook inside bamboo at water fall place. While in the jungle, take some time to listen to the life sounds around you. After enjoying a big lunch we have to continue walking down to visit Lantan museum and several product by handmade and then, we drive to visit different villages along the way back to city and around 3-4:00 pm back to Luang Namtha city.

Trip Overview

This challenging day will include 5-6 hours of walking in the Nam Ha Protected area. The trip will visit up to 2 unique villages. We will pass through beautiful nature, enjoying the lush mountains. Trained guides will also share information about the ecology and culture. Time will of course be taken to explore ethnic villages and we will arrive on a mountain top with stunning views. Finally, we will learn about traditional crafts and engage with locals

We pick you up at office at 08:30am. First we have a 3 minutes drive to the morning market where we collect food for cooking lunch after meeting our guide. Then, we continue driving for around 30 minutes to the start trekking point. Here you will meet with your village guide who will assist you.

He will accompany you all the way on this trek. You will first start with moderate walking, before heading deep into the primary forest. During the trek, your guide will point out plants used for medicine and some places where you can observe wildlife traces. After around 2 hours, we are rewarded by wonderful NPA views of the valley.

We then walk up and down until we stop to cook our local style lunch. You will learn how to cook by using organic ingredients collected inside bamboo. After lunch, we continue hiking onward down to stream where there are a lot of big old trees and some wildlife also recorded in the area.

After around 2-hours trekking, we will reach a Ahka rice farm. Have a walk around the village to learn more about Akha's lifestyle. Then we walk for another hour to our car, which will be waiting to pick us up to visit some villages along the way back.

We will drive through the weaving textile village name’s Ban Namlue village and finish our tour by returning to Luang Namtha around 4:00 pm.

Trip Overview

Come join an adventure & challenge yourself kayaking on the Nam Tha River! We will explore colorfully dressed ethnic minorities along the river such as: Black Tai, Mien Hmong (Lanten) & Mon-Khmer (Khmu). Each group has distinct ways of life & culture, which can be experienced on our adventure. During your journey, you may be able to see diverse wildlife and paddle many exciting rapids.

The day begins at the boat landing with basic paddle and equipment instruction before taking to the river in single or double kayaks.

The day begins with some basic paddling instructions and a safety  briefing before we take to the river in kayaks. The Nam Tha meanders through a variety of forest types, inhabited by wildlife, including tigers, barking deer and a great variety of birds.

We reach the border of the Nam Ha Protected Area at the Lanten village of Ban Sope Tud. Various sets of exciting but safe rapids lead up to a lunch break of delicious, local food served on banana leaves near the riverside

After this typical Lao picnic, there is time for relaxation and a refreshing swim. The next paddling stretch takes the group to the Khmu village of Ban Huay lert. Kayaking continues through lush scenery and ends after the confluence of the Nam Ha and Nam Tha Rivers. Here, a pick-up takes us back to Luang Namtha.

Trip Overview

The highlight of this tour: Paddling is a recommended activity on rainy season. The Nam Ha river is most of the year the verdant forested banks, colorful of birds if we lucky will see some monkeys eat and drink water close river bank. On rainy season you will be paddling exciting to grade rapids.

!!! Nam Ha river adventure available between July to October as rafting, and July to November as Kayaking!!!

• 9:00 am: Tuk-Tuk will take you to the Namha Village (about 50 minutes driving) where you will start your kayak tour

We will paddle down the river which meanders through the thick forests of the Nam Ha National protected area (NPA). Get ready fo a long day on the Nam Ha River to explore jungle forest and enjoy green mountain landscape. We often spot birds and the occasional troop of monkeys and see many kinds of green bamboo along the bank of the river.

This is the best chance to see wildlife as this river goes through the heart of the Nam Ha National Protected Area. At mid-day we stop at the riverside for a picnic lunch with traditional food.

After lunch, you can take a refreshing swim.

We continue forwards until arriving Khmu village & Lanten village “Ban Nam Goy” to see how to make bamboo paper & natural dyeing. We take this opportunity to look around the village and visit speak to the friendly locals.

We continue forward to paddle downstream, between trips, you will have the chance to see many different birds.

The tour finishes around 4:00 pm, and a Tuk-Tuk will take you back to the city

Trip Overview

Waterfall, jungle forest, view points, white water ripids, wildlife, 4 different ethnic villages are all the things you will get to see if you do not have much time but want to do a great activity at Luang Namtha province. Haft day trek + Haft day kayak is a trip recommended.

• 9:00 am: Tuk-Tuk will take you to the Ban Namdee village for about 30 minutes, where you will meet your local guide

This kayaking trip starts from Soptud village, where you can learn about the tribe and buy some souvenirs. The place offers you amazing landscapes of riverbanks and the beautiful Nam Tha River.

After 3 hours on the Nam Tha river with whitewater rapids, you will arrive at Gan-guna jumping resort and stop for lunch and enjoy the cable line jumping on Nam Tha river or a refreshing swim.

After lunch, you will cross Namtha River by bamboo rafting to the right site of Nam Tha River and start trekking by climbing through varieties of trees in primary forest.

Later in the afternoon we will head deeper into the Nam Ha national protected area, where your local guide will share his personal experience with you and teach you all about the poisonous and edible plants, local herbal medicines such as wild cardamoms, Galanga, rattan, bamboo shoots.

Trip Overview

This incredible day will include up to 6 hours of cycling, with lots of incredible stops. An alternative and easy way to explore the beautiful scenery of the town of Luang Namtha. Scenic views of the river bank, waterfall and visit minority villages (Hmong, Lantan,   Khmu, Labed, Phounoi, Taidam and Akha) along the dirt road. Trained guides will share information about the ecology and culture.

Leave at office to the morning market to collect the fresh food for lunch before riding up to That Phoum Pouk Stupa. We continue cycling to Ban Nammat village of Akha tribe, Black Tai , and Lan Ten minorities where we will have chance to see silk production and silk weaving with natural dyes, a Lao alcohol distillery, mountain vistas, and expanses of rice paddy as well as visit a small waterfall.

Our picnic lunch will be served on the way.

In the dry season, we can learn how to make bamboo paper making, In the wet season, you will enjoy feasting your eyes on the green rice paddies and the giant evergreen mountains in the background.

We return back to Luang Namtha before sunset

We begin driving along the road to Muang Sing. Along the way you will visit That Xieng Dueng a Tai Leu stupa and several ethnic villages including Tai Leu (Ahka) and Io Mien (Hmong). Our guide will work with you to design a trip tailored to your group. It is possible to paddle to the Chinese or Burmese border if you wish. In Muang Sing we visit the busy morning market, learn about the fascinating history of Muang Sing and visit the former French fort.

The tour begins our office in Luang Namtha and after a short briefing we begin peddling along the road to Muang Sing market for the first.

From the energy of the market, you'll step into the serene, where you’ll discover the history and present life of Lue tribe. From there, we will head to the ancient Wat Sieng tung temple, which features a spectacular on mountain top. It's Mueang sing’s most distinctive and recognized monastery, until 12:00 pm for lunch time.

At lunch time we meet our support vehicle which carries all our luggage, water. we continue on peddling over the mountains an alternative and easy way to explore the beautiful scenery and several tribes,
